    LOS ANGELES – The record-breaking Filipino film “Hello, Love, Again” has landed in the Top 10 at the box office in North America, according to industry estimates released Sunday.

    The sequel to the 2019 hit “Hello, Love, Goodbye” – which stars Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards, reprising their roles as Joy and Ethan – has clinched the 8th spot with $2.32 million,  Comscore reported.

    The film has made history, having the widest North American release ever for a Filipino movie.

    Leading the box office this weekend was “Red One,” a Christmas-themed action comedy starring The Rock, which grossed $34 million.

    “Venom: The Last Dance,” which spent its first three weeks atop the domestic box office chart, slipped to second place with $7.3 million.

    “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” was third with $5.4 million Friday through Sunday at theaters in the United States and Canada.

    The Hugh Grant-starring horror film “Heretic” was fourth with $5.1 million in its second weekend, followed by “The Wild Robot” with $4.3 million in its eighth weekend.

    Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases were “Smile 2” ($2.9 million), “Conclave” ($2.8 million), “Hello, Love, Again” ($2.32 million), “A Real Pain” ($2.3 million) and “Anora” ($1.8 million).

    This weekend’s overall three-day box office haul was estimated at $73.6 million. The year-to-date total is $7.079 billion — down 11.1 percent from the figure at this time last year, according to Comscore.

    ‘Hello, Love, Again’

    “Hello, Love, Again,” set in Canada, delves into the lives of Joy and Ethan five years after their emotional farewell in Hong Kong, unfolding themes of love, personal growth and second chances.

    The film’s distribution is managed by Abramorama, a company committed to promoting diverse films across the globe.

    The film’s release provides a chance for cinemas in North America to embrace multicultural storytelling, appealing to audiences who crave fresh perspectives and authentic cultural narratives, said Evan Saxon, president and head of International Distribution at Abramorama.

    Currently No. 1 at the box office, Amazon MGM Studios’ festive new flick “Red One” is full of warm and fuzzy moments for the whole family.

    In addition to Johnson and Evans, “Red One” stars Lucy Liu as Zoe Harlow. She’s the no-nonsense head of the Mythological Oversight and Restoration Authority, aka M.O.R.A., which monitors every magical creature, from the Easter Bunny to Bigfoot. (With CNS report)
