MANILA, Philippines — The total amount of damage to infrastructure caused by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine in Calabarzon areas reached P1,030,427,971, according to Office of Civil Defense Director Carlos Alvarez.
This amount is from 24 local government units in the region, he said at the Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon briefing on Tuesday.

Regarding damage to school infrastructure, Alvarez said Kristine left 262 destroyed schools in Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, and Quezon.

Article continues after this advertisementAs of 8 a.m. on November 5, the total number of reported deaths due to the combined effects of Kristine and Typhoon Leon climbed to 151, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
