MANILA, Philippines — Foreign investors are interested to have Metro Manila host in the future a grand prix that would feature race cars powered by electricitygrand casino, revealed the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
At a meeting of the Metro Manila Council (MMC) last Sept. 11, MMDA Acting Chairman Romando Artes announced the proposal for the “Formula E Grand Prix” to be held in Metro Manila. He confirmed to The STAR the event is also the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
According to information from the event’s website, the fastest electric race car drove at 200 miles per hour. The race event is currently on its 11th season from 2024 to 2025, to be hosted by São Paulo in Brazil, Mexico City, Jeddah, Miami, Monaco, Tokyo, Shanghai, Berlin and London.
Artes said the MMDA and the foreign proponents have signed a non-disclosure agreement, restricting them from sharing information with other parties.
Included in the information are the roads in Metro Manila proposed to be used during the race, as well as specifications from the organizers, he said. The MMDA has yet to come up with a list of roads.
The data would be used by the organizers to come up with a feasibility study about holding the race in Metro Manila, he added.
Artes pointed out the race would be held “at no cost to the government,” as it would be funded by the organizers.
He said it would help boost tourism and would be good for the economy.grand casino
